Arseny Semionov

In the West Ukraine

Musings on Art® is a direct importer of Soviet Realism, Russian Impressionism, and the Leningrad School of Painting. Russian artist Alexander Mikhailovich Semionov (1922-1984) was admitted to the Leningrad branch of the Union of Artists of the Russian Federation in 1957. Semionov's paintings are distinguished by finesse plain air, bright saturated colors, and accurate transfer of tonal relationships. Generalized drawing with a brush and the active use of a palette knife create various textures and allow the artist to achieve unity. By the 1970s, Semionov was regarded as a leader in Russian cityscape painting. Semionov has had exhibitions in Japan, France, Italy, the UK, and the USA.
